The problem of plastic pollution is well documented. If you typed that into Google, you’d get about 180 million results in less than a second. Many resources on Earth are particularly vulnerable because they are affected by human influence in different countries.
On October 8, 2021, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution recognizing access to a healthy and sustainable environment as a universal right. In resolution 48/13, the Council called on the nations of the world to work together, and with other partners, to implement the newly recognized rights. On July 28, 2022, the United Nations General Assembly voted to declare that it is a universal human right to be able to live in a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment”.
